The US Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) proposed another version of rules that would require resource extraction issuers to disclose their payments made to governments: the document was open to a public comment period on December 18.

Brazil Amends Criminal and Administrative Laws
Law n. 13.964/19 of December 24, 2019 On Amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law entered into force in Brazil. With respect to the fight against corruption the adopted regulation changes the penalty for bribe solicitation, incorporates provisions on the possibility to conclude a non-prosecution agreement in the administrative liability law and establishes mechanisms for the protection of corruption whistleblowers.
