A Network of Corruption Researchers Established in Brazil

An Interdisciplinary Research Network on Corruption (Rede Interdisciplinar de Pesquisa em Corrupção – RIPC) has been established in Brazil, bringing together experts studying corruption, compliance, transparency, and accountability.

The initiative is positioned as a platform for knowledge exchange and the development of collaboration, primarily among early-career researchers.

The network’s key objective is to build a sustainable professional community capable of developing evidence-based approaches to combating corruption.

The main areas of activity include:

  • creating a space for professional dialogue and the exchange of research findings;
  • disseminating data, publications, and information on academic events, educational courses, and other professional development opportunities related to corruption studies;
  • fostering cooperation between academia, the public sector, NGOs, and journalists;
  • promoting interdisciplinary approaches and facilitating the exchange of methodologies across fields such as political science, law, economics, public administration, sociology, communications, and computer science;
  • supporting and promoting the work of early-career researchers;
  • raising awareness of corruption in Brazil, as well as introducing new research perspectives and approaches.

RIPC is oriented not only toward domestic but also international cooperation, which is expected to contribute to the development of comparative research and the exchange of best practices.
